SpringBond Wins Sustainability Award 2024
We’re excited to announce that Texfelt has won the Sustainability Award at the Harrogate Flooring Show 2024.
The Flooring Show’s sustainability award recognises manufacturers committed to making their products and processes more sustainable. We were shortlisted in the sustainability category alongside other new flooring products launched at the event.
Sustainable products
Our latest product, the SpringBond® Eco-Step 8mm, was a key factor in our win. The new variation of our flagship SpringBond® underlay aims to disrupt the mass market for PU underlays with a chemical-free, fully recyclable product that outperforms traditional PU in durability and comfort. It is expected to be nationally specified by several top 10 housebuilders within its first 12 months.
The SpringBond® underlay, made from 85% recycled content, including plastic bottles, has helped divert over 50 million bottles from oceans, which we’re incredibly proud of.
Sustainable initiatives
Other commended initiatives include our solar energy projects, which generated 60% of our electricity in 2023, and the ISO14001 accreditation that has driven a 40% reduction in energy consumption per unit output. Our long-term commitments include decarbonisation projects, exploring green hydrogen, and reducing waste through recycling initiatives.
We’ve also transitioned our fleet to plug-in hybrid vehicles, supported by solar generation, and now operate an entire fleet of Euro 6 HGVs.
Forward-thinking in sustainability
We’re incredibly proud to have won the sustainability award, which reflects our forward-thinking approach as a company. The launch of our SpringBond® Eco-Step 8mm is a prime example of how we’re disrupting the market with products that not only perform exceptionally well but also contribute to a greener planet. Exciting things are happening at Texfelt, and we look forward to sharing more soon!
